You may wish to collect information from a third party system via single sign on, and ensure the data remains read only when used in OpenWater.

  1. Go to System Settings > User Profile

  2. Then click on the field, and choose the option Read Only, if set from third party source

3. The field will be shown as read only in the My Profile section of the public website

Suggested Practice for Managing Fields Coming over from SSO

When bringing data over via single sign on, a common request is to ensure that updates flow back to the source system. Our suggested best practice for this is to mark these fields as read only.

If the fields are read-only you can use a separator field with a link back to the parent system, to have the user update their profile.
