The speaker profile is a short form that every participant in your program completes once, no matter how many submissions or sessions they're attached to. It's the best place for information you need from everyone, such as a bio, a headshot, or acceptance of your speaker terms.
For many programs, the speaker profile is all you need. If you also need role-specific forms or forms that must be completed per submission, you'll add those later as Create speaker tasks.
How the speaker profile relates to the user profile
Every OpenWater user already has a user profile (name, address, phone, and so on) that is shared across your entire site. The speaker profile is separate. It belongs to a single program, so each program can ask for different information. When participants edit their profile on the portal, they see their user profile fields followed by your program's speaker profile fields.
Add profile fields
Go to Participant Settings. On the General tab, click Edit Form Fields.
The form builder opens. On the Add Field tab, click a field type to add it to the form. The preview on the right shows the form as participants will see it.
Click any field in the preview to open its Field Settings. Here you can set the label, description, alias, and whether the field is required. In this example, we've added a File Upload field for a profile picture and a required Checkboxes field for terms and conditions.
Click Save, then Back to Settings.
To see what participants will experience when they fill out this form, see Complete speaker profiles and tasks on the portal.
Next Steps
