Publish a speaker gallery

Showcase your speakers on a public or login-protected gallery page.

Written by Zack Schwartz

A participant gallery is a web page that showcases your speakers, with headshots, bios, and any other profile information you choose. It works like the other galleries in OpenWater.

Turn on the gallery

Click Participants, then Gallery Configuration. On the General tab, check Enable Participant Gallery, then choose who can view it:

  • Require Users to Login to View Gallery or Allow Anonymous Users to Access Gallery

  • Ask for a Passphrase in Order to Access the Gallery — Adds a shared password.

  • Allow Logged in Users to Mark Favorites — Lets attendees bookmark speakers.

The Gallery URL is the link you'll share or add to your website. Click Save.

Choose which participants appear

On the Participant Visibility Conditions tab, add conditions to control which participants are included. For example, you might show only primary speakers, or only participants on accepted sessions.

Design the list and detail pages

On the Participant List View tab, set up how each speaker appears in the gallery list. Check Use Thumbnail to show headshots, and add header content using the editor or a template with variables.

On the Participant Details View tab, set up the page visitors see when they click a speaker. Choose media to display, such as a headshot or a YouTube or Vimeo link, and build the description using Insert Variable to pull in profile fields like a bio.

Click Save, then visit the Gallery URL to preview your speaker gallery.

Next Steps

Great job! Your Speaker Manager is set up from start to finish: speakers are attached to submissions in the right roles, they complete their profiles and tasks on the portal, and you can track their progress and showcase them in a gallery.
