Aliases are codes we use in your OpenWater form to reference your form fields. These are commonly used for populating your program galleries with specific form field data as well as used within integrations to call upon form field data.

There are 2 ways to access your form aliases:

Submission Form Editor

To access your submission form aliases, first navigate to your program.

Under the Round Settings dropdown menu, click Submission Form.

Then select the page that has the fields and aliases you wish to access.

Now click the button that says "Edit Form Fields".

Once on the Edit Form Fields page, click on the form field that you want the OpenWater Alias for. You'll see field settings for that field populate on the left-hand side of the screen. Within these settings, you will see a field called Alias. Copy this alias for use with galleries and integrations.

If the alias field within the settings is blank, you can make your own. The alias can be anything but we suggest something similar to the field's name so it's easy to find and reference the alias- just remove any spaces between multiple words. i.e. Session Time becomes sessionTime. If you do add your own alias or modify the one already there, be sure to Save your form.

Developer Settings

To access your submission form aliases, first navigate to your program.

Under the Round Settings dropdown menu, click Submission Form.

In the Submission Form click the Developer Settings button.

You can now see and edit all aliases for each form field in one place. Click Save All on the top left once you are done.
